Daily California Education News Roundup

The California Education News Roundup is a daily publication that highlights news and commentary about California educational policy, educational reform, and related items of interest to California's educational justice community. Included are brief summaries and links to full articles from mainstream media, ethnic media, and select blogs. The News Roundup also features local education stories related to statewide education issues or to local advocacy campaigns. Finally, the Roundup includes selected national stories that may affect California educational policy and reform.

Weekly Themes in the News

Each Friday “Themes in the News” explores one of the current week’s “breaking news” topics—selected by IDEA staff and its partners—for summary and reflection.   Hyperlinks of the news stories, which are cited, allow readers to explore the theme on their own.

Monthly Voices Behind the News

The newest feature of the Education News Roundup, ‘Voices Behind the News’ features in-depth interviews with important stakeholders in the world of public education, including researchers, educators, and students. Through Voices in the News, we aim to promote meaningful conversation by highlighting topics of interest to the education justice community from the people ‘behind’ the news who are making an impact.
