Multiple Pathways Collaborators

IDEA is a member of the Coalition for Multiple Pathways. The Coalition for Multiple Pathways is a statewide alliance of education, industry, and community organizations dedicated to improving California’s high schools and preparing students for postsecondary education and career, both options and not just one or the other. Over 140 organizations have joined to date.

The Coalition brings a collective voice and coordinated effort to expanding access to multiple pathways—programs of study that connect learning in the classroom with real-world applications outside of school. Pathways integrate rigorous academic instruction with demanding technical curriculum and work-based learning—all set in the context of an industry sector.

IDEA also works actively with community organizations such as the
Los Angeles Partnership for Multiple Pathways (LAPMP) to provide research assistance and support to organizations committed to the development and implementation of equitable and high quality college, career, and civic engagement preparation.

LAPMP is comprised of public agencies, research institutions, and various community-based organizations, including the Alliance for a Better Community, ConnectEd, UNITE-LA, the L.A. Chamber of Commerce, the United Way, UCLA IDEA and the Urban Education Partnership, among others. LAPMP members are committed to supporting and advocating for the development and implementation of equitable and high quality college and career educational opportunities via the Multiple Pathways approach to learning. LAPMP’s works to achieve this goal by promoting public awareness and conducting engagement campaigns, creating strategic cross-sector partnerships that leverage resources, assisting in the establishment of Multiple Pathway programs, and promoting research and policies that are conducive to supporting and understanding Multiple Pathways.
