The economic and financial crisis is threating to affect education around the world and could 'sacrifice an entire generation of children" in some of the poorest countries", warned UNESCO today. Economic difficulties could deny 'several tens of millions of children' their education and keep them from mnay of the opportunities that education could provide them to escape poverty," said the director of a report which will be presented next year before the United Nations in New York.
