Humboldt County educators call list of 'low-achieving' schools inaccurate, skewed

Parents soon will be able to pull their children from about 1,000 California schools more easily, including nine local schools, but educators say that does not mean they are poorly performing campuses. The legislation to annually create a list of 1,000 schools for “open enrollment” was created to help parents transfer their children from poorly performing elementary, middle and high schools across the state, according to a press release.
