CSBA report finds conflict-of-interest problem

A 26-page study of the California School Boards Association found conflict-of-interest issues and, among other things, a need to cancel corporate credit cards, according to a report released this week. CSBA commissioned the study as the nonprofit works toward repairing its reputation, which was damaged when the pay of the former executive director and other top staffers was made public. The report was conducted by Kenneth Hall, the founder of School Services of California Inc., and Joel Montero, the chief executive officer of Fiscal Crisis & Management Assistance Team. "The report encompasses the guidance needed for CSBA to move forward in the most accountable manner possible," said CSBA President Frank Pugh in a statement. (more…)
