Diversity issues roil Twin Rivers school district

Strained relationships and feelings of mistrust are plaguing the Twin Rivers Unified School District, where many African American parents, community activists – and even two school board members – say the tensions stem from a lack of diversity among the district's top administrators. The unrest has prompted a complaint to the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office and an investigation by the Sacramento NAACP. Emotions are particularly high as the district tries to determine which schools it will close to balance its budget. (more…)
