200 LA high school students march to protest state budget cuts

About 200 Los Angeles high school students marched several miles Tuesday to protest proposed state cuts to public education. They’re concerned budget reductions could take away L.A. Unified buses, particularly for students who attend magnet schools. Joseph Sepulveda, a senior at Bravo Medical Magnet School in Boyle Heights, marched with dozens of his schoolmates south down Soto Street. He carried his guitar because he had nowhere else to leave it. “Ninety-five percent of the school takes the school buses over here," said Sepulveda. "When you cut that, there are so many kids that are going to have to get transferred into schools like Wilson, Lincoln, Washington, Gardena...” (more...)
