Scholarships for leaving the university

Convinced that ideas do not have to wait--or be lost--in the years that it takes to complete a university education, Peter Thiel opted for a radical choice: to encourage young people to leave the university. Thiel, cofounder of PayPal, an early investor in Facebook and passionate advocate of technological innovations, created through the foundation that bears his name, 20 scholarships of $100,000 to encourage entrepreneurs under 20 years of age to develop their ideas beyond classrooms.
