All major school districts in Sacramento County on financial watch list

Every major Sacramento County school district is in financial peril, as are some in neighboring counties, state officials say. Elk Grove Unified, Sacramento City Unified, San Juan Unified, Twin Rivers Unified and Folsom Cordova Unified are making repeat appearances on the state's fiscal early-warning list released Monday. Overall, 13 area school districts made the watch list, down from 19 last spring. In 2009 only nine local districts were on the list, which is issued twice a year. Galt Joint Union High, Robla and Center Joint Unified are expected to join the list when it is released again this summer, said David Gordon, county superintendent of schools.
