School closure plan trickling out

Point Loma schools could be hit hard next year — with two up for potential closure, one facing a reorganization and another six set for expansion. Schools in and around Mission Bay could also be shuttered or consolidated. Clairemont could lose a campus. And the word in Kensington is that its only public school is vulnerable. The names of some campuses on a tentative closure list have trickled out to the public — from official and unofficial sources — since the San Diego Unified School District announced last month that 10 schools could be shuttered next year from a pool of about 30 that meet closure criteria.
