CAHSEE
The California High School Exit Exam
The California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) is a requirement for high school graduation for all public school students. First implemented for the high school graduating class of 2006, about 1 in every 10 students has been denied a diploma as a result of failing the CAHSEE. A disproportionate number of failing students are African American or Latino. IDEA monitors and analyses data on the CAHSEE and assists community partners in using this data to improve students’ opportunities.
