Whitman backs 'Superman'

California Republicans don't usually praise movies that come out of left-leaning Hollywood, but gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman is adding her endorsement to a critically acclaimed new film with sharp political overtones. In a one-minute radio ad released Tuesday, the former eBay executive touts the education documentary "Waiting for Superman." "I'm Meg Whitman, and I don't normally recommend movies," Whitman says in the ad. "But every parent of a school-aged child in California should see 'Waiting for 'Superman.'" (more…)
